eBay I need to clear some space on my shelves, so I have to reluctantly part with some of my collection. No tank collection can be considered complete without at least one Panzer IV and this kit is something special. Rye Field Model is a relatively new company that has exploded onto the scene with stunning kits packed with details and features. This kit gives you the choice of modeling the Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf. J Late Production version or the Panzerbeobachtungswagen (Pz.Beob.Wg.) Ausf. J version. The former is the simplified Panzer IV tank that did away with Zimmerit and replaced Schürzen armor panels with Thoma wire-mesh panels, along with many other improvements and trade-offs. The latter is the artillery spotter tank based on the Ausf. J version, but with added radio equipment. It also comes with workable suspension and track links. There are markings for four Panzers that have been thrown into the fray in the final year of the war. There are about two dozen listings for this kit on eBay (mostly from Asia and Europe), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this to you very quickly. Here is some of the info I found from around the web about this stunning kit: The Rye Field Models site has a page with spectacular photos of the box art and several colorful renderings showing off the differences between the two versions available in this “2 in 1” kit. There is a broken link meant to download the Instruction Set and Painting Guide, but fortunately, Scalemates.com has it covered. Thomas Hartwig did a quite enthusiastic In-Box Review on the German-language panzer-modell.de archive site. He describes the contents and extensive features of this well-detailed model. He backs this all up with 45 high-resolution photos of the sprues and other kit contents. He was most impressed with the fully workable suspension and track system. In the end, he said: “A great kit that really knows how to please. The details and scope are convincing, the price is absolutely fair and the choices are excellent.” You have your choice of reviews on YouTube. I found reviews for this kit in English and German. Andy’s Hobby Headquarters posted an 11-minute Kit Preview that starts with a look at the box. He pulls out all of the parts and points out the fine details. He wraps up with a review of the instructions. Modellbau-Koenig published a 25-minute Unboxing Review in German with the first 9 minutes focused on the instructions. The next 13 minutes covers the plastic, and he finishes with the PE parts and decals. The professional camera work gives you an outstanding look at the parts to help you fall in love with this awesome kit. Vagant’s Modellbauecke produced a 35-minute Unboxing Video in German. The first 12 minutes covers the instructions. The plastic parts march out for the next 18 minutes. Decals and PE parts come next, and he spends some time making comments to complete the review. This kit is in a large, sturdy box about 15” x 9.5” x 3.7”. As you can see from the pictures, the package is pristine and still sealed with tape strips, so it is factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready.
