I need to clear some space on my shelves, so I have to part with some of my collection. The Dragon Armor Pro line of 1/72 scale models is one of the most extensive catalogs of detailed and realistic scale military miniatures available. You can pack a lot of history into a small space using these micro marvels. Dragon even builds these and markets them under their Dragon Armor badge. I found some of these great kits on clearance and stocked up (as I always do). I don’t have many, but I am selling off some of the duplicates. There are many of these listed on eBay (mostly from distant overseas sellers), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship it to you quickly. I won’t do a big write up on this, but here is what I have found online about this obscure subject: The dragon-models.com website has a page showing the superb box art and one of their amazing posters of the extensive features of this little gem. They also provide the following background on the subject: The Land-Wasser-Schlepper was conceived by Germany as a tracked amphibious tractor in 1936. A small number of this unarmored boat-like vehicle was built and they served on the Eastern Front. However, less well known is the vehicle designed as its successor – the Panzerfähre (abbreviated to « PzF »). The main difference with this vehicle was that it was armored, plus it was conveniently based on the chassis of a Panzer IV Ausf.F tank. Development of the Panzerfähre began in early 1941, and by mid-1942 Magirus had delivered two prototypes. The lightly armored, fully tracked vehicle had a boat-like bow and a propeller at the stern. The vehicle’s main function was combat supply on land and in water. It could tow an amphibious trailer, or alternatively it could work in tandem with another Panzerfähre as a floating ferry platform capable of carrying a 24-ton load. However, as heavier tanks appeared on the scene, the Panzerfähre never went into production because of its inadequate payload. · Panzerfähre Gepanzerte Landwasserschlepper is authentically produced· Chain links of front and rear hull· Rivets on upper hull are detailed and realistic· Spotlights exhibit extreme detail· Commander’s compartment intricately produced· Air intake accurately presented· Detailed assembly w/3D-designed engine exhaust mufflers· Well-detailed cable drum· Crane is intricately presented· Idler wheels w/correctly detailed parts· Sprocket wheels w/breathtaking detail and multiple delicate parts· Road wheels and suspension w/accurate details· One-piece DS tracks reproduced Scalemates.com has a listing showing this is a 2013 release based on the new tool from 2012. The site provides the engaging box art, but very little to support your build. Matthew Lenton published a lengthy Build Review on the armorama.com site where he gives us almost 60 photos of the instructions, parts and decals, as well as at various steps in the build process. He previously reviewed the Nr 1 prototype kit, so in his Conclusions he said: “Once again it is a big and impressive 1/72 model, longer and higher than its PzKpfw IV origin. It can also be built quickly, so if it’s painting you prefer, this is a good subject.” This kit is in sturdy box about 11.5” x 7.5” x 2” with excellent box art. As you can see from the pictures, the kit is in pristine condition and still sealed with the original shrink wrap, so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete injection molded plastic model kit with over 90 grey plastic parts with a set of DS tracks and a small sheet of decals.
