We very strongly recommend replacing the high pressure oil pump intake screen located in the bottom of the high pressure oil reservoir below the engine oil cooler. In a large majority of cases where the high pressure oil pump has failed, we find that the high pressure oil pump screen is torn. If the screen is not replaced, the high pressure oil pump will fail again in a very short period of time. Some additional time and effort is required to check and replace the screen – but it will save significant time and money in the long run!
