A 7 1/4 inch tall rectangular-shaped amber colored antique patent medicine bottle that looks like a BITTERS bottle with a WHISKEY top, but is a quack medicine bottle. This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand Blown Into Mold bottle (BIM) with a tooled-top dating back to the late 1800’s. Bottle embossed: « Gladstone’s Celery / and Pepsin Compound – Mastico Medicine Co. / Danville, Ills. » Condition: This bottle is in good clean condition. It has some light age-wear but NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. PLEASE see pictures to get an idea of overall appearance/condition. Age: An ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand-blown bottle (Blown-In-Mold = BIM) with a tooled-top, ca. late 1800’s. Shipping: FREE DOMESTIC shipping. One was green, the others all amber. Since they were in a pit full of saloon bottles we came to categorize them as some type of liquor, bitters bottle, or tonic. Many of the old bottles that held a CELERY compound were actually stimulants that held a cocaine ingredient which would also help explain how they ended up in a saloon privy. Not a commonly seen bottle, note the resemblance to a Dr Harter’s WILD CHERRY BITTERS bottle. The deep AMBER COLOR, with the WHISKEY TOP, the CLEAN condition, and the OVERALL SCARCITY of these bottles, all contribute to make this a desirable old bottle, check it out!
