Black Balance Equinox Dressage Saddle with #3 Tree Width (on Balance 2/3 Tree), B Seat Length. Flap is 18 inches. Dressage stirrup bar, short billets in classic Balance formation to keep saddle points from digging into the horse. Adjustable/removable thigh blocks on velcro. Several of the saddle makers have gone over to a new company but are still getting set up. The saddles truly encourage free and natural movement of the horse. They take a hot second to get used to because they feel wide under the rider, but horses build their backs under them beautifully. Because of this Balance saddle, I was able to ride my mare at 3rd and 4th level until she was 26 and 1/2 years old. Seriously. The pic of her is this week at 27 1/2 a year after being retired due to right hip and Cushing’s and her back is *still* great. I will include my Balance Pads, which include a saddle-shaped extra-thick wool pad, a Pro-Complete 1/4″ Base Pad Regular Length, and a Remedial B 1/4 pad. The pads are used but very functional. (If I find my JB 1/4″ pad I’ll include it). With the BALANCE Saddling System, where the saddle points are wider than the horse’s back and are cushioned by the Padding System, the effects of (saddle and rider) pressures are minimized. The Equinox Dressage Saddle is built on the BALANCE/Equinox Tree that has a higher/steeper cantle than on the GPD and GPJ versions. This provides a little more focus for the rider’s pelvis to be supported into balanced organization, particularly when spending more time in a sitting trot than in rising as tends to happen in more advanced dressage training and competing.The shape of the flaps is longer and straighter than on the GPD version of the saddle, to accommodate a longer leg position. This is supported by using a dressage (show) stirrup bar that also allows the stirrup leathers to hang slightly further back. However, the shape of the flaps still maintains a slight curve in order to avoid forcing the rider to adopt a very straight leg position.The saddle is made of good quality leathers and has a cushioned seat, which creates the almost-instant feel of a well broken in saddle.The standard specifications for this style of Equinox are:A range of BALANCE tree Widths: #2; #3 and #4 (Widest).
