Up for sale is a special treat for the paint and pigment enthusiast or the antique collector: ONE DUTCH BOY WHITE LEAD 1# CAN NEW UNUSED OLDER VINTAGE STOCK. ++++PLEASE NOTE, ITEM DESCRIPTION HAS BEEN CHANGED 10/18/24 1:35 EST TO MOST ACCURATELY REFLECT THE CONDITION OF THE TWO REMAINING CANS IN THIS LISTING.THANKS++++ The can is in really outstanding condition as compared to similar offerings out there online. Check it out for yourself!This can for sale is part of a quantity I acquired a number of years ago for my personal use. The white lead paint itself inside of the can is completely polymerized and solid. Alas, unlike tubes that stay soft for 100 years+ under proper storage conditions, cans with wide mouths skin early and dry out over time. This is a great item for: 1.The collector of paint related memorabilia and product. You will be hard-pressed to find a better specimen. This can is in outstanding condition. The logo/label has « like new » luster, sheen and crispness. The metal is clean with only light rusting, a moderate amount of blackening (primarily on top of can) or other tell-tale indicators of age or inappropriate storage conditions. Moderate metal discoloration in spots (especially tops of cans) and minimal linseed oil seepage from decades in storage. 2. The painter, paint or pigment enthusiast as a pointed conversation piece. Use it as a paperweight, a bookend etc. This can is very heavy for the size. One interesting knick-knack for adult use only! 3. The pigment and paint experimental fanatic such as I that made a 6-month project out of re-constituting the paint and making some tubes of really nice antique/vintage lead white oil ground!
