Rescued from the basement of an old building in Rockford IL., these lights are the classic style that so many of you are looking for. All of these lights has at least one chip, some just short of « A » condition and some just short of « C » condition. These are « B » Condition. Nothing very distracting at all, just a bit of patina for authenticity. The large nuts that hold the shade to the brass fitter have a coating of rust that I like, so I left it original. In order to allow the light to function as designed, I’ve added a 2 inch machined aluminum extension to the original brass Goodrich socket fitter. This allows the bulb to extend an additional 2 inches into the shade for better illumination. Today’s bulbs are far shorter than they were when this light was manufactured. The extension is also perfect for the use of LED bulbs. (Don’t let your bulbs get lost in the neck). The sockets are standard base, household size. And last but not least, the machined extension is designed to provide a good, solid ground, my commercial and safety conscious buyers LOVE this option….pass your inspections!! The shades are the classic Goodrich shape and color. The edges are rolled and have a black porcelain edge, all the good stuff. They are a fairly large 18″ in diameter. Goodrich lights have a thicker gauge steel than most other shades. From the bottom of the shade to the ceiling is 19 inches with the included 6″ galvanized down-rod. From the bottom of the light to the point the pipe enters the shade is 12″. If you need a different length, I have 3″ or 12″ down-rods free of charge. Longer lengths are available at any hardware store inexpensively. The newer swivel hangers allow the lights to hang plumb, (vertical) even if your ceiling is not level, (horizontal) and also allows the lights to resist damage from accidental, (or purposeful), bumps and bruises.
