The Kidde® smoke detector with ambient light sensor, ten-year lithium battery operation, LED light, and voice alert, model p4010DCSCO-W, is a lithium battery-operated combination smoke and CO detector. The carbon monoxide alarm provides reliable detection of dangerous CO gas, even during power outages. Using photoelectric sensor technology, the smoke detector senses visible fire particles; leading authorities recommend that both ionization and photoelectric smoke detectors be installed to help ensure maximum detection of the various types of fires. Because carbon monoxide is an additional safety concern, having a combination smoke and carbon monoxide detector with battery backup in one unit allows both sensors to work together to protect your family. By communicating constantly, the alarm can adjust its sensitivity to better discriminate between an actual hazard and a false one, significantly reducing the potential for nuisance, or « false » alarms.Two LEDs keep you informed of the alarm’s status, while a voice warning will verbally announce « FIRE » or « WARNING! CARBON MONOXIDE » in the event of a smoke, fire, or CO danger. A red LED will flash in unison with the alarm pattern to warn of fire, carbon monoxide, and low battery. The green LED will remain steady to indicate AC power and flash every 60 seconds when in battery-only mode. This Kidde® smoke and CO detector with battery backup can be connected with other Kidde® alarms in your home to help protect your family.
