87-93 Mustang MC Kit SN95 Brake Upgrades, Mustang Master Cylinder Kit – 1-1/16 bore w/ 3-2 port adapter kit 1-1/16″ bore MC with 3-2 port MC adapter kit. For use on the 1987-1993 Mustang when upgrading to rear disc brakes. This MC has a slightly firmer pedal (less brake assist) than the 93 Cobra MC (more brake assist – softer pedal) You can choose the kit that will most suitable for your preference. Just use the make-offer option and state you want to exclude the 3-2 adapter kit Bench Bleeding: This kit also comes with a bench bleeding kit (tube type). Be aware that you need to properly bench bleed your MC before you install it. Please do research on bench bleeding if you are unfamiliar with the process before you start your installation. I posted some new pictures of our 2-3 port adapter kit. Picture 2 & 3 show the adapter kit with the new 3-port tee. Additional photos may show the old style also showing attached to a 93 Cobra MC to let you see how it looks when you install it. The only change is the new 3-port tee. Same function as the old style. In this kit you will get the 1-1/16 bore MC, not the 93 Cobra MC which is a 1.00 inch bore. We do have the 93 MC Kit available if you want that setup. It is in another of our listings. Finally we have a few kits available for purchase again. There was a shortage on the special 3-port tee fitting in the 3-2 port kit. Picture #3 shows the new adapter we are now using. The SN95 upgrade refers to using 94-04 brake components to upgrade the brake system on the 87-93 model year Mustang. In addition, the current MC Kit includes a MC bench bleeding kit. We do not always have this available so this is a bonus. Fitments show 1994 & 1995 but that is only because the MC will work on those models. Now Available by popular request – Hard to find part great for your rear disc upgrade. This is a direct replacement part for the 1994/1995 Ford Mustang. Question: « What makes this setup different and what parts will change my brake pedal response » All of the items in a brake system will have an impact on how the brakes respond and how well they work. This includes how sensitive the brake pedal is, how quickly the brakes will slow the car with a given amount of brake pedal pressure. Also how much brake pedal force is required to safely but effectively slow the car from a given speed. Some people like very sensitive brakes and many people do not. The quickest and safest way to slow the vehicle is the ability to keep the brake pressure at the point just before the tires lock-up. Modern cars have ABS that does a great job of keeping emergency braking pressure at this point, keeping the tires from locking-up. As far as I know, the Mustang did not have ABS braking system until the 1994 model year. What we need to do on the earlier cars without ABS brake system is to build a brake system that will enhance the braking performance. There are many ways to do this and all of the parts in the system will have an effect. Some of these items include but are not limited to the MC type and bore size, the size & type of the caliper piston(s) diameter(s), the size of the rotor, the front to rear balance of the brake hydraulic system and even the brake pad compound to name a few. By increasing the diameter of the MC piston size you will immediately increase the pedal effort, in effect decreasing the pedal sensitivity and increasing the amount of brake fluid going to the calipers for the given amount of brake pedal travel. Please do some research if you want more information on how automotive brake systems work and more specifically what can be done to your Mustang or other performance vehicle regarding brake system improvements and upgrades. There are many things to consider for a brake system upgrade. The MC is only one piece of the puzzle. There is lots of information on the web and many publications that can help if you are interested. Some brake system issues and symptoms: These are many problems you can have with your brake system. Here are just a few. Pedal too sensitive, pedal not sensitive enough, too much brake pedal travel, brakes lockup too easily, brakes do not lockup, one wheel locks-up, no braking from the rear wheels, brakes work OK only for the first use, brake pedal pulsations during braking, car pulls to the left or right during braking, under heaving prolonged braking the pedal suddenly goes to the floor, I have to stand on the brake pedal to slow the car….. Do some research on your exact problem. kit details: For owners of the 1987-1993 Mustang doing SN95 disc brake upgrades, this is a great alternative to the 1993 Cobra MC. This has a slightly larger bore size than the 1.00″ Cobra MC bore and will provide you with a slightly firmer brake pedal on your 1987-1993 Mustang rear disc brake upgrades. This will make it much easier to modulate your brakes, especially if you have already done the upgrade and find that your pedal is too sensitive. If you are unsure or need some help just contact me. I am happy to assist. It is highly recommended to replace your old MC when doing a rear disc brake conversion to the 1987-1993 Mustang. This one has the 1.0625″ bore size that is a great choice for use with your rear disc conversion. This will work great with the use of Cobra rotors and calipers and also the GT/V6 rotors and calipers as well. If using the 99-04 GT/V6 with the larger dual 45mm dual pistons, this MC will have an even firmer pedal with less assist. In those instances you will probably want to use this MC with the addition of either the 93 Cobra booster or the 94/95 SN95 booster. Use with stock vacuum booster or upgrade to the SN95 booster for even more assist. Has connector for low fluid sensor. Requires a 3-2 port conversion kit to properly connect to your 87-93 brake system. This MC has Metric fittings for your 1987 – 1993 Mustang. Because this MC has the larger 1-1/16″ bore size, it will provide a firmer brake pedal with less assist. Of course with less assist is needs more effort to stop. If using the larger 99-04 45mm calipers you will most likely need the larger 93 Cobra or 94/95 brake booster.
