This is a wonderful hand woven historic remake of the original rare PEACE AND PLENTY wool coverlets that were made in the 1800’s. The late David Kline who was the original owner of Family Heirloom Weavers made this one in Red Lion, PA back in 1990 as a tribute to those originals. If you aren’t familiar with him please do an internet search and check their Youtube videos also. He was very talented and the company still thrives now with their handmade woven textiles in demand among many collectors. The colors in this one is the best indigo blue and cream. Please study the pics taken outside in natural daylight for more info and details of the houses and florals and trees and birds and even a sweet little dog. Note it has a fringe on three sides and was made for hanging on a wall or shelf rack or it’s the best size for a throw or child’s bed or table cloth measuring about 43 x 42 inches. Overall it’s clean but has an early water stain on one side where it had been displayed as a table cloth over the years in an old Ohio farmhouse where we found it a few years ago at the estate sale where the 98 year old widowed farm wife moved to town and sold the farm with no remaining heirs. It might soak out if you use Borax or another early textile soaking solution or you could always stain it with natural walnut dye or some other dark substance to age it further but we left it as we found it and didn’t mind the spots. If you collect odd textiles and love coverlets this one is a treasure that doesn’t make it to the modern markets very often. We have another one from the same estate listed now if you want to take a peek. Although they aren’t yet 100 years old they are simply fabulous and a wonderful representation of early Americana for you to blend in with your historical decor and antiques. 🙂 From a very clean smoke free homestead so never any allergies or other apologies here with us.
