Sears KSX Super Pentax K Mount 35mm SLR Camera Kit with 50mm 1.7 Normal and 135mm 2.8 Telephoto Sears Lenses FREE SHIPPING in Continental USA This 35mm SLR camera is in very good and fully functioning condition, with an accurate meter, a very clean viewfinder and great condition overall. There are minor scratches on the bottom of the camera, as pictured, but otherwise the exterior is very clean and has been well maintained. I’ve run several rolls of film through this camera and they have all come out beautifully. It allows for fully automatic, aperture-preferred or manual metering and operation. You can find a user manual digitized in PDF form at the Butkus.org website. Sears SLRs were made by Ricoh and were top-notch cameras that last a lifetime. This one accepts all Pentax K mount lenses giving you a huge range of used lenses to choose from, many of which can be had for very low prices. It is a great starter kit for someone getting into film photography for the first time or someone getting back into it and needing to purchase a working camera and a couple of sharp lenses to get started. Unlike most of the cameras sold in as is condition on eBay that someone found in a drawer or at an auction, this one works, has been tested repeatedly and will actually let you get started without having to shell out more money on a hard-to-find film camera repair shop. The camera includes a Sears 50mm 1.7 normal lens and a Sears 135mm 2.8 telephoto lens. Each lens is in excellent condition, with clean glass, accurate focusing and responsive, accurate aperture control rings. They each provide open aperture metering with this camera and other K mount SLRs. Each lens has a lens cap as pictured. There is one end cap you can swap between lenses included also. Each lens also has a like new multicoated UV filter attached to protect the glass. The KSX Super is an auto-exposure SLR offered by US retailer Sears in 1984, and manufactured in Japan by Ricoh. Functionally it is the same as the Ricoh KR-10 Super, but the slightly different grip style is actually matched by the (rarely seen) Ricoh XR-2000. The front of the pentaprism has a blank plate where one might expect Sears branding; but this is only noted discreetly on the back top left of the body and on the trim ring of the bundled 50mm f/1.7 lens. The KSX Super offers an unusually wide electronically-timed shutter speed range of 16 seconds to 1/1000 second in manual or automatic modes, although this means the camera only functions with power provided by two SR44, LR44, or one suitable 3 volt lithium battery.
