BLACK SIKAFLEX 221 CARAVAN MOTORHOME MOTORSPORT SOLAR PANEL SEALANT This listing is for a 300ml cartridge of BLACK Sikaflex 221. Polyurethane adhesive sealant. Sikaflex bonds and seals. It is particularly useful on roofs, Solar panels, Junction boxes, Flues, Vents, Glands, Joints, Seals, etc. Flexible & resistant to weathering, unlike silicon, Sikaflex can be over painted. It is also widely used on race cars for sealing panels and gaps to avoid fuel entry etc to the driver area after a collision or roll etc. Renewable Power Solutions has used Sikaflex 221 on Solar installations and widely on various exterior applications on camper vans and motorhomes over a number of years. Sikaflex is so strong that solar brackets had to be cut from a fibreglass roof during renovation works. There is however an amount of flexibility which avoids the possibility of cracking of joints. Sikaflex will cure fully after a number of hours (depending on ambient temperature) The tube has a limited life after opening but this can be extended by storing at a cool temperature and making sure the nozzle is kept full and taped of after use. Depending on how long it has been left, removing the nozzle will often reveal serviceable compound at the exit of the tube. If this is solid, careful removal of the cured Sikaflex will usually allow fresh compound to flow. It is of course a good idea to try and schedule work on your vehicle to carry out all repairs and installations that require Sikaflex at the same time. On production work requiring small volumes of compound, we have successfully decanted the tube into small syringes to extend its shelf life.
