Please note that the straw must be at least a tiny bit smaller than the grommet size, in order for it to slide thru the grommet easily. The 5/16 & 3/8 sizes both work with the 9/32″ straws, it’s just personal preference as to how snug/loose you want it to fit. 5/16″ grommets have a 7.92mm opening 3/8″ grommets have a 9.525mm opening 8mm STRAW = 0.3149 inches which is just a hair bigger than the 5/16″ grommet. The 3/8 inch grommet will work SILICONE GROMMETS, 5/16″, 3/8″, or 1/2″ (inside diameter) for Mason Jar Straw-Hole Lids, FOOD SAFE 1/2″ grommets Some of the pictures show the color in the smaller size, but I will send 1/2″. 11 colors now!! The 5/16″ = 7/16″ hole (7.92mm ) The 3/8″ = 1/2″ hole (9.525mm) The 1/2″ = 5/8″ hole (15.875mm) Also, I have clear & black 3/8″ that have a LITTLE wider groove…from a new supplier. They are excellent quality. There is a little gap between the lid & grommet, but they still work great. I will be sending these, once the others run out.
