Good day & thank you for checking out this item in my store. Today’s posting is a great one in my opinion. You don’t see these much anymore, especially NEW.The Robin Subaru company was known for their quality and reliability. This motor was quite often used to replace the broken, or under performing one found in a wide array of equipment. This included, but not limited to: Lawn-mowers, Pressure Washers, Generators, & even Go-Karts. You won’t find another of these for sale, at least not NEW, anywhere on the internet. (I looked for the last year & a half & during time of posting). The Ex-Premium Subaru industrial engine series is the same as the Robin engine, which has been known for its performance for almost 30 years. Subaru’s EX-Series engines are also considered compact, efficient, and reliable, and were one of the few competitors to Honda’s GX-Series. If you’re in need of replacement parts for this then you are in luck because there are still a few reputable places out there that carry surplus. I personally use the latter of these mentioned ones for their customer service. Although new sales of Subaru Robin Engines, Pumps, and Generators were officially discontinued in 2017; Hill Country Outdoor Power is honored to be an Authorized Service Center for Subaru Robin repair services, as well as, a provider of Genuine Subaru Robin repair parts. (No affiliation or commission earned from this) You can also get new parts throughhttps://www.jackssmallengines.com/ {not a hyperlink}(Also not a sponsor, They were just very affordable & had very helpful customer service reps) This particular modelwas introduced to the US market in the late 90’s. They discontinued the production of this model around 2001. That means this motor is at least 23 years old, but still looking brand new, CAUSE IT IS…. sort of. You are getting the item in the picture, nothing else. What you see is what you get. Well, actually I ordered a new air filter, fuel filter, & fuel cap cause the padding came off the air filter. The air filter cover is missing, but is available still to purchase out there. So these won’t show up on the pictures as of the writing of this. After the parts come in this will be completely packaged up and ready for shipment for whenever the time comes. If anything else is missing I apologize that I did not notice it, but I am only going to replace so much as i am no mechanic, I am an electrician & a maybe electrician at that (I work on boats not actual Marines) So, bit of a difference between those trades. This engine does not normally come with a pull handle when purchased new though (so I’ve been told by the previously mentioned « Jack’s small engines ») BUT, I will be including one off another mower I have though so you can be ready to hit it hard when you get this item.Due to its age, and sitting around for a couple decades, even though it has been in the box I highly suggest that you do a thorough inspection before trying to operate it. There is no warranty with this. It has never been operated, so I don’t know if the seals are still good, if the compression is correct, or if there’s any interior issues with it ETC, you know, the typical mechanical stuff that I previously said I am not very privy to. As for shipping, It is going to be repackaged into a double boxed setup with bracing for durability during shipping. PLEASE ALLOW ME 1-2 DAYS TO DO THIS FOR YOU. You don’t want a broken motor on your hands. One thing being in the Navy taught me is how to pack, & I pack REAL WELL. ***With this purchase you are getting not only the motor, you are also getting the Manual, & The ENTIRE service manual in pdf & on its own USB thumb drive. Now you can take this beauty apart to clean, inspect, repair, & know how to put it back together. Cuz that’s sort of important. Don’t want to take it apart and then forget how you did it because you procrastinated for too long and it slipped your memory on how you took it apart because you had one too many beers in the process. Then you’re stuck with a very nice looking set of paperweights that your significant other will get irritated at you over for it taking up all the extra space in the garage.
