The Haunted Doll by Tim Wisseman For all of time, people have been creeped out by dolls, ventriloquist figures and antiques. With that in mind, I sat down with Tim Wisseman six months ago to create this effect. Emily is the perfect effect for bizzarists, mentalists and seance performers. It has 110% creep factor. It’s not that unusual for a young child to have an imaginary friend or two. Often times, parents think it is cute; a mischievous little friend, a foot to take the blame for some minor wrong doings. In fact, there are parents that will claim a good imagination is healthy, but what happens when the child begins to be tormented by the imaginary friend? Tormented to the point that the child can’t sleep the night through without the friend awaking them to play? What happens when the play becomes rough and frightening to the child? Sometimes, the doll must be removed from the child and put away…for everyone’s sake. Sometimes, the doll and child don’t like this at all. This is what happened to Emily; when she passed, her spirit couldn’t let go of her doll and has inhabited it ever since. You place the doll in the cabinet and right away Emily is batting the curtains from the inside as if trying to get out. The curtain can be immediately removed and you can see that Emily is still there. So to appease Emily, you now add some old wooden blocks to the cabinet and as you walk away the blocks visibly move as if kicked out by a ghostly force! Hanging the curtain back on the cabinet, you want to summon the spirits to contact you by rapping; suddenly loud raps are heard from the cabinet (and when we say loud we mean LOUD). A small brass bell is then put in the cabinet and caused to ring as well. Any of these supernatural effects can be done in any order of your choosing and repeated as many times as you want. The cabinet is so cleverly designed to hide the inner workings that this effect can be used at a seance table with someone inches away and even surrounded. Because of the size, 23 x 13 inches, it can also be performed in a large venue. All features are controlled via wireless remote. And,you can be 20 feet away. PLEASE NOTE: Each unit is made with authentic vintage dolls. As with all Tim Wisseman items, the props have been aged to look the part. EXCELLENT CONDITOIN!
