Vintage Sterling Silver Box Click image to enlarge Description This beautiful and unusual pill or snuff box is made from high gauge sterling silver. It is of long, rectangular form with a hinged lid and gilded interior. The lid is decorated with figures, horses and cherubs, and the sides with flora. It is hallmarked for London 1990 with the sponsor’s mark of John Silvant & Marguerite Jones. The style of mark used shows this piece was imported before being formally assayed as sterling silver in the UK. This box is in beautiful condition with no damage that I can find and the lid clicks shut nice and securely. The gilding is also in very good condition with no wear. Please be aware that, after 34 years, there will be some fine surface abrasions caused through handling. All packages are sent by Royal Mail Signed-For service and have adequate insurance built in to the postage cost. I do not make any profit on postage/insurance costs and don?t charge for packaging.
